Eastern Maine Community College Inaugurates Sixth President 

Eastern Maine Community College held a formal celebration to inaugurate its president.Lawrence Barrett began duties at the college in August.On Friday, he was formally sworn in as the school’s sixth president.Barrett has more than two dozen years experience in higher education.His plans for EMCC include creating more academic programs.”We’re going to have a brand new hospitality management associates degree, we’re looking at a plumbing program, we’re looking at expanding a liberal arts program so it’s a two plus two program with University of Maine and Husson University.”Previously Barrett served as Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Student Services at Purdue University North Central in Indiana.
