Bikes for Books Rolls into Hartland

Some lucky students won free bikes for reading books. The “Bikes for Books” program rolled into the Hartland Consolidated School. For each book a student read, they were able to enter their name in a drawing for a free Huffy bike. The folks at the Corinthian Masonic Lodge say they created this event to encourage kids to read more.”We feel that it’s really important to not have kids just exposed to it as homework that they have to do but to give them kind of a positive encouragement to read and hopefully through the process of trying to read for a bike they learn to like reading a little bit more,” said Matthew Fowle, Master of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge.Students from Saint Albans and Hartland Consolidated schools took part in the event.
