Students Donate Field Trip Money to Japan Relief Efforts

A third grade class at Corinna Elementary School is reaching out to the people of Japan.Students in Ms. Kingsbury’s classroom say they were shocked by images of the tsunami and earthquake. They chose to donate money they raised for a field trip to the victims. The students raised more than 2-hundred dollars, which was matched by their teacher and a local bank.So they’ll be sending more than 7-hundred dollars to Japan.”For a child in third grade that’s a pretty big decision and I’m really proud of them, I think they realized that in the long run this is something that’s really important and they’ll have other field trips,” Ms. Kingsbury said.A teacher at the school who has family in Japan was especially touched by what the students did.
