Bangor Federal Credit Union Celebrates Ending Hunger Campaign

The folks at Bangor Federal Credit Union are doing what they can to end hunger in Maine.Thursday the credit union gave $10,000 to food pantries.Employees of its branches raise the money in various ways throughout the year.The Good Shepherd Food Bank receives a big portion of the money raised.They say its always tough to pick just who gets the money because they realize all food pantries have a big need.”It is statewide and each year we’re involved I can only see how generous everybody is and they amounts have increased each year.””It is great. We are in the process of developing more sources of income so we can purchase the food and provide a greater presence in the town. We know that as the economy is going we’re expecting more and more families to use the food.”Collectively, Maine’s credit unions raised more than $440,000 to help fight hunger.
