State Trooper Injured when Cruiser Struck 

A state trooper was injured Wednesday afternoon when his cruiser was struck from behind by an empty logging truck.It happened on Route 133 in Livermore Falls.According to State Police, the trooper had stopped to assist a motorist who had gone off the road, when the truck attempted to brake, jack-knifed and struck the rear of the cruiser.Police say the trooper was pinned inside the car for more than an hour before rescue crews could get him out.He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
