Lincoln Paper Mill Fined by OSHA

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration wants Lincoln Paper and Tissue to pay a $212,000 fine for safety violations. It’s because of an accident in September that resulted in a worker being burned when hot steam burst out of a high-pressure steam line. OSHA says the size of the proposed fine is because hazards at the mill found after the accident were similar to hazards that were cited and had been corrected after a safety inspection in 2008. The mill’s environmental and safety manager says all the items recently cited by OSHA have been corrected.
