L.L. Bean Sees Increase in Sales

L.L. Bean says sales went up last year.It follows two years of declines.Bean says sales went up 5.7% in 2010.Bean says online sales grew 29% and demand for its Made-in-Maine boots were up 57%.The company says sales haven’t yet reached pre-recession levels but the performance was good enough to mean a 5 percent bonus for Bean employees.L.L. Bean has nineteen stores in Japan.Five sustained slight damage in last week’s earthquake.The Japanese stores account for 5 percent of Bean’s revenue.
