Kids Create Musical Instruments at Discovery Museum

The Maine Discovery Museum was all about music Saturday. The day started with a parent-child music workshop and then the children were able to build their own instuments. The museum provided different recycable items that the kids could use while building. These included cans, tubes, rubber bands and rattles. They were given samples of possible instruments they could create. But Director of Education Trudi Plummer says she was impressed with what the kids came up with.”I was surprised actually how creative they were. We had our samples but some of them took it into a whole different direction. I saw a little kid combine a rattle and a guitar. It was very clever,” she said.Plummer says the Discovery Museum holds events like this every weekend and that they love to combine music and art.
