73rd Eastern Maine Sportsman Show Kicks Off in Orono

The 73rd Eastern Maine Sportsman Show is underway from the Memorial Gym at U-Maine in Orono. The festivities go through Sunday afternoon. This evening, I caught up with Penobscot County Conservation Association Vice President Tony Richard and asked him what makes this event so special.Tony Richard – PCCA Vice President”This time of year, I think especially this year, people have really had it with winter and I think everybody is ready for spring and the Eastern Maine Sportsman Show is really the harbinger that spring is around the corner. You can see, you’ve got boats, you’ve got outfitters, you’ve got arts & crafts, you’ve got food, that’s another way for getting people interested in the outdoors and outdoor sports. If you like a lot of exhibitors, a lot of diversity in the exhibitors, you like to see dogs, live owls, whatever it is, good food, come down to the Eastern Maine Sportsman Show because it’s where to be this weekend.”
