Tips Could Reduce Utility Bills

The winter months can be an expensive time for home owners, and a local organization wants to help cut down your heating bills.Maine Interfaith Power and Light hosted an energy efficiency presentation at the Keith Anderson Center in Orono. The event is designed to help homeowners learn how to save energy and money in an eco-friendly way.Board member, Laurie Osher, says it can be done by following a few simple steps around the house.”The most efficient things people can do is to insulate their attic, which is pretty low cost and to insulate their basement and then to tighten up holes, places they don’t even know that air is coming through.”The organization says making those adjustments could reduce home energy costs by twenty-five percent.
