Maine Women Wear Beards for LIttle Beard Day

There were a lot of bearded women across the state Friday, as part of Little Beard Day.The ladies at the Veazie Town Office took part in the Facebook-initiated event. The event is in response to Governor LePage’s comment about the safety issues surrounding chemical additive, Bisphenol-A.The Facebook group asked Maine women to put on beards at noon Friday and post pictures of themselves on the Facebook page.” I just thought it would be really funny. So we hunted around the office and we found this little girl here that had some hair to share, so we made some beards,” said Julie Reed. Last month, LePage said he’s not seen enough science to support a ban on BPA, saying “..worst case some women might have little beards, but we don’t want to do that.”
