Colby Women’s Hoops Advances to 2nd Round of D3 Tourney 

It’s the second year in a row in the NCAA tourney for the Colby Women’s basketball team. Today the Mules in New Jersey to face Stevens Institute of Technology in the opening round of the big dance. Diana Manduca had 13 points and Aaricka Ritchie chipped in 12 as the mules advanced with a 58-48 win.Earlier this week we caught up with the team as they prepared for this weekend. The Mules say they are loose and ready to go this weekend. Colby is now 22-5 overall after winning nine of their last ten games. Last year was the first time the Mules had ever reached the NCAA’s and now they want to continue raising the bar.Jules Kowalski – Colby Senior”We went into the season with higher expectations than we did last year, playing further in the NCAAA tournament was goal #1 rather than just making it, so if we stick to our game plan, we should be pretty good and our game plan of defense and being all over the rebounds.”Aarika Ritchie – Colby Junior”We’re hard to beat because we have great post players, we have great guards.
