Woman to Share Peace Corps Experience with the Public 

A woman in Bangor hopes to encourage others to take on an out-of-country adventure and join the Peace Corps. Jessica Atherton spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa.She’s sharing her experiences with the community at the Bangor Public Library this weekend. While in Africa, Atherton helped a struggling community, living without electricity and running water.But she also enjoyed once-in-a-lifetime experiences, like bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge. Atherton’s Peace Corps presentation is Saturday, March 5th at 2 p.m.It’s free and everyone’s welcome.
