Hallowell Roof Collapse UPDATE 

Three people escaped injury in Hallowell Wednesday when the roof of the Kennebec Ice Arena collapsed.The arena was built in 1970.Witnesses say the entire 240 foot long roof collapsed a little after three Wednesday afternoon.The initial belief is heavy snow and ice on the roof is to blame.The three people inside told investigators they heard a loud vibration before the collapse.The force of the collapse was so severe that there is debris everywhere including insulation stuck in nearby trees.The arena is used by high school and club hockey team along with public ice skating sessions.
