Washington County Robbery Suspects Appear in Court 

Two people from Calais accused of a weekend crime spree remain in the Washington County jail after making their first court appearance today. Michael Bailey and Amanda Fowler, both 27, are each charged with 10 counts of armed robbery, burglary and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. Bailey is also facing three charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and illegal possession of a firearm. Police say Bailey went into a trailer in Baring Saturday night with a gun and threatened to shoot the residents.Eight people were reportedly held at gunpoint and robbed.Police say during the robbery, a gun went off and Bailey ran off with some money.He and Fowler were then arrested Monday after a report of gunshots at a home in Baileyville.A court affidavit say the homeowner shot Bailey in the face, injuring his ear.It also says cocaine was at the center of both of the alleged incidents and that Bailey had allegedly stolen several thousand dollars worth of the drug from a man Friday night. A judge set bail at $100,000 cash for Bailey and $25,000 cash bail for Fowler. They’re both due back in court later this month.
