A Winterport man who allegedly poisoned his neighbor’s dogs is out of jail. Police arrested 36-year-old Erland Edwards Friday. Authorities say a detective arrived at Edwards’ home after a neighbor called police accusing Edwards of poisoning several adult dogs and a puppy. The puppy died from the poison.Police say when a detective searched his home, he noticed residue that resembled cocaine inside. Test results later confirmed the substance was cocaine.Edwards is charged with possession of schedule “W” drugs and cruelty to animals. He bailed out of jail the same day he was arrested.He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
