Fundraiser Could Make Classroom a Little Smarter

Students at Fruit St. Elementary School in Bangor are hoping to get a little bit “smarter” with a new addition to their classrooms. The school’s Parent Teacher Organization is raising funds to add three new Promethean smart boards to second and third grade classrooms. The school already has five boards, but through grants, support from local businesses and a silent auction, they’re hoping to raise enough money for three more.In these technological times, Principal Tim Babcock says the boards are an invaluable resource to the classroom. The PTO will be holding an online auction beginning March 17th.Those items will be on display at a spaghetti dinner and silent auction at the school to wrap up the fundraising event on April 1st.If you’d like to take a look at the items up for bid you can visit the website fruitstreetschool.com.
