Remembering a Friend of the Tourney with Roses

If you’ve been to any of the tourney games this week, you might have noticed a rose on the table by the court. The red flowers are being put at the table in memory of Lawrence “Red” St. Louis, a long time fixture at the tournament.St. Louis died just before this years tournament, on Wednesday February 2nd.His good friend, Richard Mcquesten decided he had to do something to remember Red. ” I knew the first time I came in that it was gonna overwhelm me and I had to do something and it did. As I was walking down to put the rose, the tears were coming down my face, ya know. He’s just a great guy. I just miss him so much.”Mcquesten took in his first tourney game in 1966 and he says for the last 15 years, he’s gone to every game.
