Coast Guard Ice Breaker 

The Coast Guard will make its winter trek up the Penobscot River to break up ice dams on Friday.But this year, they’ll be joined by Congressman Mike Michaud.Maine’s U.S. House Representative will join members of the Coast Guard cutter “Tackle” for the run up river.The 65-foot vessel will work in tandem with the cutter “Bridle” to break up ice in Bangor.Congressman Michaud is a new member of the House Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation subcommittee, which oversees laws relating to the Coast Guard.(AP)
