Orono Outsourcing Company Sold, Could Add 200 Jobs

A local outsourcing business in Orono is expected to grow – maybe by up to 200 jobs – now that it’s been purchased by a company in Atlanta. Microdyne Outsourcing was sold this week to Nexxlinx, which has been in operation since 1999.Right now about 275 people work at the facility in Orono.The head of Nexxlinx said in statement that he expects to significantly expand employment there this year. A spokesperson for the company tells TV5 initial estimates are 100 additional jobs this year and another 100 next year.Microdyne operates computer call centers and offers technical support for software and computer companies.Microdyne opened in Orono in 2001 after purchasing EnvisioNet Technical Support Services, which had gone bankrupt.
