Code Violations Fixed at Kennebec County Courthouse

A Maine courthouse that had been cited for code violations is now in compliance following work to remedy them. Kennebec County Administrator Robert Devlin says the deficiencies in the 19th-century Kennebec County Courthouse have been fixed. Last year, the Maine Bureau of Labor Standards issued nine citations for rules violations, most of them involving the building’s electrical system. The county was given until February 15 to make the improvements. Devlin says the problems were corrected shortly after the inspector’s visit. Devlin says that county officials will report back to the state within a week. (AP)
