Woodcock Moves Closer to Becoming Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Chief 

Chandler Woodcock has cleared a big hurdle in his bid to become Maine’s next Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Chief.The legislature’s Fisheries and Wildlife committee unanimously approved him on Wednesday.The Farmington resident is a former teacher and ran for governor as a Republican in 2006.During his hearing, Woodcock said his priorities include restoring the thinning deer herd in Northern and Eastern Maine and getting youths interested in hunting and fishing.He now needs approval from the full state senate.
