Gardiner Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Forgery and Theft 

A Gardiner woman accused of stealing 166 thousand dollars from the Maine Trial Lawyers Association has pleaded not guilty to forgery and theft.Bettysue Higgins appeared in Kennebec County Superior Court in Augusta Wednesday morning.Prosecutors said she stole the money while working as an administrative assistant for the organization.Higgins is free on personal recognizance.
