Albion Man Out of Jail After Being Charged With Assaulting a Relative

An Albion man is out of jail after he allegedly forced his way into a relative’s home and assaulted him.39-year-old James McGarey was arrested Tuesday night.Police say he broke through a door of a male relative’s apartment in Belfast and punched him in the face.A Belfast detective says McGarey hit the other man at least 20 times and then took off when he heard police were on the way.The detective says he showed up at the apartment because a woman he knew was there. She was not injured during the altercation.We’re told KcGarey later called police and confessed.He’s charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.He was taken to the Waldo County Jail and later released on 400-dollars cash bail.
