Disaster Aid Available to Non-Profit Organizations 

Local non-profit organizations affected by severe storms and flooding in December could be eligible for disaster assistance. The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering places such as food kitchens, homeless shelters and community centers low interest rate disaster loans.The organizations must be in Aroostook, Piscataquis, or Washington Counties and have sustained damage between December 12th and 19th. Qualified groups may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace equipment and property.Money’s also available to help with operating expenses. For more information, log on
