Local Artist Wins Grammy 

Some of music’s biggest stars took home a Grammy Sunday night, and one of them is bringing the honor back to Bangor.The Bangor Symphony Orchestra music director, Luchas Richman, won a Grammy for the Best Classical Crossover Album. Richman contributed to the winning album, ‘Calling All Dawns.’The award was announced in the pre-televised Grammy ceremony. His orchestra here at home says they always knew Richman had a unique ability.”We knew he was immensely talented. He has an enormous toolbox, and this is a real cherry for us. This is just icing on the cake. He’s very deserving and we’re very lucky to have him,” said Executive Director, David Whitehill.Richman also conducted the music for another Grammy-winning song on the album called, ‘Baba Yetu.’
