Lewiston Cheerleaders Capture Class A State Title 

It’s that time of year when winter sports start having their state championships. Today the Bangor Auditorium was the setting for the state finals in cheerleading.An absolutely packed house. Classes A and D were the afternoon session.In Class A, the Bangor Rams, third in Eastern Maines. Today, the Rams come in seventh. The difference between third and seventh was just five points.Also in the mix, the Brewer Witches. They grabbed second in Eastern Maine’s. Today a fifth place finish. A point ahead of Scarborough, one behind noble.The three-time defending state champs. The Biddeford Tigers see their run in states come to an end. They finished in third.Second place, Marshwood. They won the Western Maine final two weeks ago.And the winner in Class A, the Lewiston Blue Devils with a score 168.5. It’s their fifth state title in school history and the first since 2006.
