Suspect Allegedly Took Victim’s Head Off Before Burning Home 

A murder suspect wanted in Maine for allegedly shooting the man who gave him a place to stay and setting fire to a house in Readfield has waived extradition from Massachusetts.An affidavit filed Friday indicates David Silva Jr. told his girlfriend that he planned to rob Robert Orr after learning of a safe, guns and money. She told investigators she awoke to gunfire Tuesday night and saw the headless victim slouched in a chair before the house burned.Silva, who was arrested Thursday, waived extradition in a brief hearing in Wareham District Court on Friday. In Maine, he’ll be charged with murder, robbery and arson.Janet Orr says she and her husband took in Silva and his girlfriend to help them get back on their feet.(AP)
