Non-Profit Organization Talks about Budget Proposal 

A group of non-profit organizations and concerned citizens calling themselves “Maine Can Do Better” gathered at the State House to speak about the governor’s budget proposal.Officials from the group say they heard a few good things from the governor, including a commitment from Lepage on further investments in education.However they say they heard some troubling things as well.Spending cuts for welfare programs and the governor’s pledge of no new bonds the group say they found most disturbing.The group says more investment in broadband, downtowns, and green infrastructure would be good for Maine businesses.
