Maine Businesses Speak In Favor of Governor’s Reform Proposals

Members of Maine’s business community gathered in Augusta on Wednesday in a show of support for Governor LePage’s regulatory reform proposals. The event was hosted by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.Last year the chamber released a report called Making Maine Work.It includes a list of things that business owners feel are standing in the way of business growth here.Government regulations made the list’s top five. Folks from businesses throughout Maine spoke out in favor of the Governor’s plan to get rid of some regulations. But not everyone at Wednesday’s gathering agreed. Some of the groups at the State House say the Governor’s plan is too extreme. Both sides say they hope common ground can be found.
