Updated 3 years ago

Brewer is welcoming a new business with open arms.SnapSpace Solutions has purchased the former ZF Lemforder building. They’ll be making retrofitted modular steel units there. Those products are used in construction on such things as hotel and dormitory rooms throughout the nation.SnapSpace solutions focuses on earth-friendly living spaces and structures that are constructed using recycled steel. The move to the new place was facilitated by company president and Bangor resident Chad Walton. He says he hopes to fill the economic gap left when ZF Lemforder closed its doors.”Unfortunately when the Lemforder plant shut down all the jobs went away. We’re going to try to put as many people back to work here as possible and the building is available. It’s an incredible building, a big enough facility to do this type of manufacturing and do it on a large scale.””We lost upwards of 400 jobs when Lemforder left and replacing them is SnapSpace Solutions is fantastic for our community, our citizens. Having these jobs that we’re replacing is a wonderful thing. So we’re excited.”Walton says they hope to be turning out product here within eight weeks. To learn more about the company go to their website www.snapspacesolutions.com
