Back to the Bargaining Table For Nurses

It’s back to the bargaining table for union nurses and hospital management at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.Negotiations are set to resume Monday.Union nurses went on a one day strike in November, saying they wanted more staffing and better patient to staff ratios.Since then, the Maine State Nurses Assocation has filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the hospital, saying management has attempted to intimidate nurses who take part in activities to advocate for their patients.A hospital official says the complaint is vague and not factual. Both sides have told TV-5 they hope to make progress on their disagreements at Monday’s meeting.
