Man Accused of Holding up Rite Aid with Machete Pleads Not Guilty 

A Rockland man accused of holding up a Rite Aid with a machete was in Knox County Superior Court Wednesday.Twenty-three-year-old Joshua Powell pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery, burglary, stealing drugs, criminal threatening and theft.Police say Powell jumped over the pharmacy counter last September, threatened the clerk and demanded drugs.A customer in the drive-thru saw him and called police.Powell is due back in court in May.He remains at the Knox County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
