King of Dinosaurs Visits Bangor Public Library

The King of the dinosaurs is calling Bangor home.A model of a tyrannosaurus rex’s head is on display in the children’s room at the Bangor Public Library.Black Beauty is on loan from the Royal Tyrell Museum of Dinosaurs in Canada. The original was discovered back in 1983 by a group of Boy Scouts who were out fishing. The skeleton is black because it was fossilized by mineral manganese. The library’s director Babara Mcdade says the fossil adds a little something extra to the reading experience.Black Beauty will be on display until the end of February
