Law Enforcement Tackles Prescription Drug Abuse 

Federal law enforcement will help state and local police tackle prescription drug abuse and pharmacy robberies in Maine.U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty says there was a fivefold increase in pharmacy robberies in the past year. He also said more than 90% of drug overdose deaths in 2009 in Maine were linked to prescription drugs.Former Maine Attorney General Janet Mills asked for federal help last fall. William Schneider, Maine’s new AG, says he supports the effort.Delahanty says the main goal is to offer help with investigations.
