AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) – Gov. Paul LePage plans to announce hisnominee to head one of the largest and most complex departments instate government – Health and Human Services. The Republican governor on Wednesday will also name hisAgriculture Department nominee, as he gets closer to filling outhis list of 15 department commissioner choices. The Health and Human Services Department, previously led byBrenda Harvey, administers MaineCare, the nutrition programformerly known as food stamps, and numerous other welfare andsocial services programs in which hundreds of thousands of Mainersare enrolled. LePage on Wednesday will also announce an executive director ofthe Workers’ Compensation Board.
