He is the only player from maine that has ice time with the UMaine hockey team this year. Mark Anthoine is a freshman forward. It was his dream to play for UMaine all along, and as Tim Throckmorton tells us, he’s taking advantage of his chance.Mark Anthoine – Maine Freshman”You gotta start from scratch you have expectations coming in try to live up to them but now that we’re halfway through the season I like to think I make something out of every game I play.”His coach would agree that he has taken advantage of his ice time. Tim Whitehead says he has been the teams most consistant freshman forward.Tim Whitehead – Maine Head Coach”I was very impressed with his abil:ity to focus on the game plan every week and execute he’s very consistant, physical, strong and he has a good shot too he’s gonna score some goals down the road.”I’m getting comfortable every day working hard with all the guys everyday its a learning curve make mistakes you get beter from it with all the coaches video its easier to get better every day here.Anthoine hopes to be thought of along with other maine natives like Greg Moore, Eric Weinrich, Jeff Libby and Derek Damon.Of course any time you can get a Mainer playing at UMaine its special. I’m happy for Mark and his family they come to games its a special opportunity and we’re proud of Mark.
