Cianbro Lands New International Contract

Cianbro has landed a new project that will put more folks to work at its Brewer facility.Cianbro CEO Peter Vigue announced Tuesday morning that the company has been selected to manufacture 13 process modules for a major petrochemical company in North America and a global company.Vigue says as part of the contract he cannot release the name of the company or how many jobs it is creating at the Brewer facility. He tells us the work will begin immediately. In September, Cianbro began making steel structures for international mining company, Vale.Vigue says the newest contract is a big deal for Cianbro, “We’re very very excited in light of the fact that there’s a minimal amount of activity in the petrochemical industry today, and yet we’ve been able to succeed in winning another contract. Certainly it’s a reflection of the quality of the people in the state and within our company and the confidence that our clients have in our company and its people.”Vigue goes on to say this is an indication that Maine is very capable of competing with other companies on a national and international basis to do these complex projects.
