130 Out of Work at BIW 

130 Bath Iron Works workers will be let go this month.Company President Jeff Geiger told them the workload is changing as production moves ahead on the first of three stealth destroyers being built at Bath. He says most of the design work has been done, reducing work for designers and engineers.BIW has more than 5,000 workers.Bath has bids in to build coast guard cutters and a high speed vessel for the army and marines, but a recent change in navy strategy shuts the shipyard out of bidding on future contracts for a warship called the littoral combat ship.
