Increase in Attendance at State Parks 

Last year attendance at Maine parks and historic sites was the highest it’s been in twenty-one years.The Maine Bureau of Parks and Land says 2.6 million people visited the parks and sites, which is a jump of nearly 11 percent from the previous year.Out of Maine’s 48 state parks and historic sites the most popular was Reid State Park in Georgetown with more than 181-thousand visitors, followed by Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg.
