Senior Center Receives Grant From Bangor Savings Bank 

The Hammond Street Senior Center received a big boost from the Bangor Savings Bank.The bank presented the Senior Center with a check for $3,500 on Wednesday.The grant money will be used to support new programs.Wednesday’s celebration also announced the addition of Jonathan Plummer to the center’s board.Development and Communications Director Deanna Partridge says the money will also help the center reach out to the community.”We’re trying to change people, their mindsets, their attitudes about what it means to be a senior and encouraging people to come down here and see all the fabulous activities people can do,” she said.The Senior Center currently has 2,250 active members.They are located at 2 Hammond Street in Bangor.
