Governor Elect Inaugural Events

Governor elect, Paul LePage’s inaugural events this week will be simpler than what Mainers have seen in past years. An aide says LePage insisted on the scaled-back festivities, because of the weakened economy and LePage’s own style.LePage’s Inaugural Director, Brent Littlefield, also says the new governor will not use a teleprompter to read his speech. There will be no inaugural ball, and a much simpler, hour-and-a-half reception will be held on the same day as the inauguration. The official swearing in will be at 11:30 on Wednesday.(AP)
