The Maine Women’s basketball team snapped a nine game losing streak with a win over UMass last night but bad news for the Black Bears. Redshirt freshman Rachele Burns will miss the rest of the season after she tore the ACL and meniscus in her left knee. Burns has already gone through three surgeries on her right knee over the last two years.The former star from Gorham High School played in five games for the Black Bears this season. Her college debut came on November 27th against South Alabama. She had three points and connected on her only field goal attempt. She plans to have surgery on her left knee next month in Boston and will begin six months of rehab after that.
