Old Town’s Jake Leithiser Leads Coyotes to Indoor Track Meet Victory

The UMaine Field House packed for the second meet of the indoor track season. Teams dividied into an ‘a’ and ‘b’ meet.Boys ‘A’ 55 meter dash, Hermon’s Nicholas Byers in blue wins by two hundredths of a second over Orono’s Miguel Caballero.Girls ‘A’ 55 dash, Old Town’s Kayla Brooks. Won this event last week, she wins again today.Boys ‘B’ 55 hurdles, Tristan Wortman from Brewer ekes out a win over his teammate, Josh Stone. Bangor won the girls ‘A’ meet, Brewer the girls ‘B’. Hampden won the Boys ‘B’ and Old Town won the boys ‘A’ meet thanks to Jake Leithiser.He wins the boys 55 meter hurdles by over a second but doesn’t seem too pleased with himself.He also broke a school record in the high jump. He clears a leap of six feet, four inches. Wins the event easily. The senior spoke about his big jump.
