Monmouth Police Chief to Head to USM 

The town of Monmouth will have find a new chief of police, less than a year after filling the position. Kevin Conger is leaving the job to take over as the director of public safety at the University of Southern Maine. Conger took the position in April. He’ll leave at the end of next month.Conger says he’s ready to return to the U-S-M police department, where he served as a patrol lieutenant for two-and-a-half-years before moving to Monmouth.Conger gave his resignation last week. Selectmen are expected to officially accept it at a meeting tonight.
