DAV Gets New Vans 

The group Disabled American Veterans have a new set of wheels to help those who need a ride to the Togus VA Medical Clinic in Augusta.The DAV added three new vans this year to its volunteer transportation network that will give veterans a free ride to the hospital.They’ve also added new routes, offering vets who live in and around Searsport and between Moosehead Lake and Newport.George W. Mathis, says the volunteer transportation network helped more than 4,000 Maine veterans with transportation to Togus.If you’d like to sign up for rides, you can call the DAV at 623-5790.
