Bangor Man Arrested After Confrontation With Bangor Police 

A Bangor Police Officer was injured Tuesday in an altercation with a Bangor man accused of stabbing one man and assaulting his girlfriend.Officers responded to a Hammond St. apartment to investigate a report of a domestic fight involving a knife. There they reported confronted a man identified as 36-year-old Andrew Borg who was wielding a baseball bat.During the struggle to arrest Borg, a large cast iron radiator fell onto Officer Jim Dearing, breaking one of his legs.After arresting Borg, officers discovered that an unidentified male, who is reported to have been stabbed by Borg, had fled the scene. He is being being treated at EMMC for non life threatening stab wounds.Borg’s girlfriend was also assaulted, but did not require treatment.Officer Dearing was transported to EMMC to be treated for a broken leg.Borg is being charged with elevated aggravated assault, assault on a police officer and domestic assault.
