More than 2-hundred local veterans will have a merrier Christmas thanks to community spirit. Monday, workers from Worship-FM radio delivered gifts to veterans in Augusta. Station staffers went room-to-room to say thanks to the vets for their service.Recently, the radio station launched the first “Christmas for our Vets” program to make sure Maine veterans were recognized during the holidays.Veterans staying at the Togus VA Hospital and the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta were asked what they would like and listeners came through with the presents. “Veterans do so much for us, and a lot of veterans may be forgotten at Christmas time so we decided to do something special. So we partnered with “Christmas Around the State” and they provided some resources and we just asked our listeners to step up and they came through in a big way,” said Worship-FM’s Ryan Gagne. Worship radio hopes to make the “Christmas for our Vets” program an annual tradition.
