Bangor city councilors are scheduled to decide tonight on the next step for a new Bangor arena. They’re holding a special meeting at 6 o’clock to vote on whether to go ahead with the design development for the project. City councilor Cary Weston says that would commit another $700,000 or so to the arena architect. Last week, developers gave councilors a revised plan that would cut down the initial $80 million project to $65 million. That plan moves the civic center to the other side of the arena, closer to Main Street. It also eliminates a meeting space building and sky bridges over the road.
