Two Maine Men Charged with Murder in California 

Two former Maine residents are facing murder charges in Northern California in connection with the killing of two other people from Maine. Lake County authorities say Robby Beasley and Elijah McKay have been charged with the murders of Frank and Yvette Maddox earlier this year. Beasley was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant shortly after the bodies of the couple were found in March.Both Beasley and McKay are natives of Kennebec County, Maine Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Bauman told The Sacramento Bee at the time that the couple had moved to Lake County from Maine to help Beasley with a marijuana operation. McKay was arrested in Georgia in October after fleeingCalifornia. The 30-year-old Beasley was arraigned Wednesday, while the 28-year-old McKay is expected to be arraigned Thursday. It was not known if Beasley had entered a plea. (AP)
